Ah, today was a good day. The sun was shining bright, though it was early enough in the day that it hadn't yet gotten unbearably hot. The long sleeve shirt he had on to protect his skin from tanning and allow himself to remain undercover in the city was thin enough to breathe, and the hat he wore easily covered and protected his face. All in all, he was comfortable, well fed, well rested, and about to make one hell of a profit. He had a damn good haul, and he knew exactly who he was going to sell it to.

Lena and Sasha were two of the prettiest scavengers he knew, and they had an eye for the good stuff. He knew that he could unload the items he possessed easily, but selling them to a middleman (or in this case, middlewoman) ensured that he could control the demand, driving costs up for himself later down the line. Plus, he might get a bonus, if everything went well.

As Nico approached their dwelling, he placed two fingers between his teeth and whistled loudly to announce his arrival. The pack mule that plodded along behind him, back piled high with parcels, whinnied in soft protest, but he ignored it.

"Ladies! I have goodies for you!"

A few days has passed since both Lena or Sasha had gone out too far from their little dwelling in the centre of the settlement since business had actually been flowing quite well; the customers were coming in it a good rate which meant that the girls could lower their prices, ultimately bringing more people to their doorstep which in turn brought them a bigger income. With a bigger income, the girls had the opportunity to either buy some luxury items or expand their business, and Lena being Lena wanted some nice things however Sasha was fixed on the idea of expanding their assets. After all, if they were going up a step in the game then they needed more allies in the world, and allies came at a cost.

One of the biggest names in the game was Nicodeamus Keane: renound in the underworld for his elite smuggling and his sheer balls for going into the city every so often. Everyone in the line of work knew how risky it was; one slip up could end up with a bullet through the temple after a beating from Jericho's highest ranks. Whilst neither girls were ready to join in on such gallivants, it was something both of them aspired to do one day as only the top dogs ever tried it. Even going close to the Jericho wall was a risk, let alone going beyond!

Meanwhile business was still booming, and it wasn't long before the top man himself came to their doorstep with his actually rather adorable pack-mule behind him, who whinnied in protest to Nico's greeting whistle. "You know us, Nico. Always up for a good deal." It was Sasha who spoke first in her thick accent, curving around the desk-like set up in their dwelling and folding her arms. "Lena!" Lena was typically not involved in the actual trade of their goods for her set of skills were better in the crafting side of things. Nonetheless, she spoke up to the preferred people in the game. Nico was one of those people.

Lena sighed. It had been a while since she and Sasha had been on their weekly hunt for goods, and quite frankly selling stock was hardly the fun part; Lena loved going out into strange lands and uncovering various things from the passed. She remembered finding some good little toys about 10 miles away from their home settlement just after they left; it was too bad she didn't think it was worth anything at the time - if she knew that they were going to be stock traders then she would've kept it. Things like that tend to be pretty costy since they're difficult to make with little experience.

Nonetheless, when she heard the whistle of whom she knew to be Nicodeamus Keane's and the shout of Sasha, she hurried from out back to greet him, only to over hear him talking of various goodies he had found. Lena gave a wary glance behind him at the little pack mule behind him - it looked a little overpakced, but hopefully most of it was going to be traded off to them. "Nico," She gave him a little nod; the Russian had her hair back in a braid although it was rather messy for she didn't overly care about her appearance - there wasn't many people of whom she wanted to impress around. "Get unpacking."

He gave the two ladies a cheeky grin as they both came out to greet him, "There they are, my two favorite Ruskies!" When Sasha was close he scooped her up into his arms and planted a big old kiss on her cheek, a typical greeting for him. Usually the kiss was on the mouth, and for those who he really liked, he might even dip them. But he took pity on Sasha today, especially with Lena approaching. He remained unconvinced those two were "just friends". "How's business, comrades?"

At Lena's order, he laughed and obliged, removing packages from the little mule's back, "So bossy today! You know I love that." He gave her a little wink before laying out the parcels on the ground. "Good haul today, nearly cost me an arm to get it too, so expect the price to reflect that."

"There they are, my two favorite Ruskies!"

Sasha frowned, tilting her head with a hand on each hip. She was surprised that Nico had actually heard of their ancestor's home land, although technically they were Ukrainian. Saying that, the average Joe had probably never even heard of the country, not that it bothered Sasha. She knew were her roots were and that was all that mattered when it came down to it.

"How's business, comrades?"

Where could Sasha start? Over the past few weeks they had seen outsiders of every shapes and sizes come through their front door in search of a bargain. "You know how it is. Things have been good recently, haven't they Koval?" Of course the girls always had something nice in - everyday they traded out old items for new ones; it was how business flew so well with them.

"So bossy today! You know I love that."

Smirking, Lena returned the rather cheeky wink before curling around the desk to help him unpack from the mule. Truthfully, Lena didn't care a whole lot for animals - that was more Sash's muse. She thought that the Petrenko family had some kind of dog, not that she was interested too much in Sasha's family. Back in Vysokaya Mesta Sasha's mother Mariya was known for her skill in the dealing trade - that woman knew how to use words, that was for sure.

"Good haul today, nearly cost me an arm to get it too, so expect the price to reflect that."

Eye brows raised, Lena pouted her lips a little. Usually they didn't pay too much for their goods since most of the other dealers were guys who were interested in their 'assets' however Nico was a little notch smarter than the wrest. They respected him for that, though. It was nice to have another person around who didn't take crappy offers. Nonetheless that didn't mean they were going to pay ridiculous prices. "Show us what you have then. We aren't paying anything ridiculous, are we Sasha?" She gave her friend a small wink before glancing back at Nico.

"Alright, alright, keep your pants on. Or better, don't." He chuckled a little bit at his own joke. It was no secret that he was always after a little bonus, especially with these two very attractive traders.

But he was also here for business, so he set about his work with quick, efficient hands. Unloading the little mule was easy, he had done it so many times that he had nearly perfected it. Within minutes the animal was unloaded and tied to a small scrubby looking plant that it munched on dutifully, and Nico was laying out his haul.

There were the usual things he always brought, liquor and cigarettes that people paid entirely too much for in his opinion. Though he was as addicted as anyone, he was not starving, and he couldn't imagine purchasing a carton of cloves instead of food. But next to those things were the real treasures. He had food, and lots of it. More importantly, it was fresh.

There were hard fruits that kept well, apples and potatoes and carrots and onions, things that outsiders were rarely treated to. There were cheeses and some thick, nutty bread that would last for days after it was broken apart. There were even a few green things that had survived the journey back from the city relatively intact, and would keep for at least a few days. "I'd suggest eating the green stuff yourself, unless you have an immediate buyer," he said, "That's what I did. Apparently I've got a thing for kale, who knew?"
